SC4D LEX Legacy - BSC VDK Train Mods Vol07 and Vol15 High Speed Rail Tr SC4D LEX Legacy - BSC VDK Train Mods Vol07 and Vol15 High Speed Rail Trains NEW

The original/initial SC4D LEX upload contained 2 separate uploads with 2 *.exe installers (2 each for GLR/EL-Rail and Passenger Rail automatas), but during the file restoration efforts to SC4Evermore, these packages have been combined.
The SC4D LEX Legacy - BSC VDK High Speed Rail Trains by vester contains the following 2 formerly available High Speed Rail and Passenger Rail automata mods:

  • VDK Train Mods Vol 07 - High Speed Rail Trains
This package includes High Speed Rail Rail mods for 10 trains from Japan and Taiwan.
The trains will run on your HSRP rail network, on your Hybrid Rail (HRW) network or monorail networks.
Most of these were inpired by real trains, some are color variations. Some of them are inspired by the Shinkansen trains.
  • VDK Train Mods Vol 15 - High Speed Rail and Passenger Rail Trains
This package includes automata mods for the passenger rail and high speed rail network.
At the moment it contains mods for 6 colors schemes.
Some of them existed in reality, some did not, but they are included here for completeness, and to allow you, the user, the most flexibility in your game.

Installation

Extract the z___BSC MODs parent folder into your Plugins".
It's gonna install the following paths with two additional subfolders at the end (both for HSR Mods and Train Mods):

  • Z___BSC MODs/VDK Automata/VDK High Speed Rail Mods
    • From the VDK High Speed Rail Mods folder keep only ONE folder and remove the rest.
  • Z___BSC MODs/VDK Automata/VDK Train Mods
    • From the "Primary Engine Mod (Replacement)" folder, pick only one DAT (VDK Train Vol## [...] PR Engine Car v2.dat - This is the main train mod) file. This download will not work with any other Passenger Train mods installed! Make sure that this mod is loaded after the Network Addon Mod (the provided z___BSC MODs folder will actually ensure this), otherwise the new UDI icons won't show up.
    • From the "Secondary Engine Mod (Addon)" folder, pick also only one DAT (VDK Train Vol##l[...] PR xCar v2.dat) file for adding additional trains to your rail  network. For the best result choose one with the same name as your main train mod.

Due to first the Project ZIP efforts, then the SC4D LEX Restoration efforts in order to make the folder structure more unified the original install location (VDK Automatas BSC) and the file names have been changed.
To avoid conflicts, please, it is highly recommended to use any of the third party cleanitol tools and remove any previous versions from your plugins. In the ~Documents folder in the main ZIP you can find a Cleanitol_BSC VDK Train Mods[...].txt file and by using either the newer nos.17's SC4 Cleanitol or the older BSC Cleanitol tool you can search and remove old and outdated versions of these files.

The letters on the pictures above, helps you to pick the file you want to install.

Types of mods:

The following lists types of mods and types of cars. They are not the same.

There are two different kind of mods:
  • replacement mods (Rep)
  • additional mods (Add)

There two different kinds rail network:
  • passenger rail network (PR)
  • high speed rail network / monorail (HSR)

A color scheme for one rail network holds the following files:
  • Rep Engine-Car (replacement mods for engine and car)
  • Add 2xCar (2 additional cars)
  • Add 1xCarP (1 additional car with pantograph)
You will need to copy at least one replacement mods for engine and car (Rep engine Car).

Optional file:

Each mods is made of two or three files:
Engine Car: This file replaces the engine and the cars of the trains.

Beside that either:
XCar: Gives you an additinal car with pantograph. It connects the trains with the overhead wire.

or the following two files:
1XCarP: Gives you an additinal car with pantograph. It connects the trains with the overhead wire.
3XCars: Gives you three additinal cars (without pantograph).

The XCar files is optional files that gives you extra cars.
The files will be installed for the mod you selected. You can remove the XCar files from plug-ins.

Please be aware that the problem with "ghost trains" as state below in Known problems will get worse with the numbers of cars installed.

These train mods need to load after the Network Addon Modd (NAM). Make sure they are in a folder that will be further down your plugin list, alphabetically, than the NAM.

Uninstallation:

To uninstall these files, simply delete them from your plugins folder.

Known problems:

When using custom automata mods the game will occasionally show "ghost trains" just after loading (trains showing up just outlined, or only partly visible).
This is normal, and nothing to worry about. The more train mods you have installed, the more this phenomena will be noticed. Sometimes it will persist even after the initial loading of the map.
